Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive family of airliners on the market. Ranging from 107 to 525 seats, Airbus' product line includes: the single aisle A320 Family, the wide-body long-range A330, the all-new next generation A350XWB Family and the ultra long-range, double-decker A380 Family. The company continues to broaden its scope and product range by applying its expertise to the military market, with the A400M. It is also extending its portfolio of freighter aircraft that will set new standards in the general and express freight market sectors. Airbus today consistently captures around half of all commercial airliner orders.

Airbus is a global company with design and manufacturing facilities in the UK, France, Germany and Spain, as well as subsidiaries in the US, China and Japan. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Airbus is an Airbus Group company.

Airbus in the UK is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of wings, fuel systems and landing gear integration on all Airbus aircraft.

Employing over 10,000 people across its sites in the UK, Airbus provides an additional 100,000 jobs through an extended supply chain of more than 2,000 companies located across the length and breadth of the UK, including SMEs and companies located in disadvantaged regions.

Currently Airbus in the UK and its supply chain provide goods and services worth nearly £2 billion per annum to the UK economy. One of the UK's biggest inward investors in Research and Development, Airbus in the UK invested £479m in R&D in 2013.

    British Airways (BA) has become the tenth operator to receive an Airbus A380 after taking delivery of the first of 12 aircraft on order. BA is the first UK operator of the A380 and will start to deploy its new flagship aircraft on routes from London Heathrow to Los Angeles and Hong Kong.
