New appointments this week in UK politics, civil service and public affairs

Dods People draws together a list of last week's appointments in Westminster politics, all the devolved administrations and the public affairs sector.


Houses of Parliament:

House of Commons

Ivan Lewis had the Labour Whip removed, he now sits as independent.

Committee on Arms Export Controls - Leo Docherty, Graham Jones, Gavin Robinson, Ann Clwyd, Mike Gapes, Nusrat Ghani, Royston Smith, Nigel Evans, Pauline Latham, Chris Law, LLoyd Russell-Moyle, Henry Smith, Stephen Twigg, Marcus Fysh, Ranil Jayawardena, Emma Little Pengelly, Faisal Rashid and Catherine West appointed as members.

Northern Ireland Affairs Committee – John Grogan appointed as a member.

Procedure Committee – Alison Thewliss replaced Ronnie Cowan as a member.

Committee of Public Accounts – Stephen Morgan appointed as a member.

Women and Equalities Committee – Tonia Antoniazza appointed as a member.

 

Government departments:

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Steve Holliday stood down as Lead Non-Executive Director.

Department for Education

Education and Skills Funding Agency - Eileen Milner started her role as Chief Executive.

Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

Sports Grounds Safety Authority - Alan Coppin reappointed as Chair.

 

Devolved Authorities:

Welsh Assembly

Scrutiny of the First Minister Committee – Mick Antoniw replaced Huw Irranca-Davies as a member.

External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee – Jane Hutt and Jenny Rathbone replaced Eluned Morgan and Jeremy Miles as members.

Finance Committee – Jane Hutt replaced Eluned Morgan as a member.

Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee – Dawn Bowden and Joyce Watson replaced Jenny Rathbone and Huw Irranca-Davies as members.

Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee – Mick Antoniw replaced Joyce Watson as a member.

Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee – Mick Antoniw replaced Hannah Blythyn as a member.

Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee – Joyce Watson and Lee Waters replaced Jeremy Miles and Hannah Blythyn as members.

Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee – Jenny Rathbone and Rhianon Passmore replaced Dawn Bowden and Jeremy Miles as members.

Welsh Government

Education Workforce Council – Clare Jones appointed as a member.

Scottish Parliament

Health and Sport Committee - Ash Denham elected as Deputy Convener.

Perth and Kinross Council – Audrey Coates elected for Perth City South – Conservative hold.

South Lanarkshire Council – Martin Lennon elected for Rutherglen Central and North – Labour hold.

Stockton-on-Tees Council – Louise Baldock elected for Parkfield and Oxbridge – Labour hold.

Wakefield Council – Michael Graham elected for Wakefield West – Labour hold.

Leicester Council – Elaine Pantling elected for Eyres Monsell – Labour hold.

Neath Port Talbot Council – Jo Hale elected for Bryn-côch South – Plaid Cymru hold.

Herefordshire Council – Ellie Chowns elected for Bishops Frome and Cradley – Green gain from Conservative.
