Scope's vision is a world where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.

We are calling on the next government to deliver everyday equality for the UK's 13.3 million disabled people. It must put the interests of disabled people at the heart of its agenda and deliver meaningful change over the next five years to tackle the barriers that prevent disabled people from participating fully in society.

We want to see the next Government achieve every day equality by committing to a cross-Government approach to disability which includes:

  • Improving disabled people's work opportunities through committing to halve the disability gap and improving disability employment through reforms to in and out of work support

  • Enabling disabled people to live independently by increasing investment in social care so that disabled people of all ages are able to live independent lives and committing to tackle the digital divide between disabled people and non-disabled people

  • Improving disabled people's financial security by committing to protect disability benefits from further reductions, taxation or means-testing, and allowing for budget increases in line with inflation, reforming Personal Independence Payment assessments and improving the experiences of disabled consumers in regulated markets
