Airbus employees swapped their work clothes for chef’s whites in a bid to raise much needed funds for local hospices.

As part of its fundraising activities, Airbus employees had an Easter-themed company bake-off and charity cake sale and raised an amazing £250 for Hospice UK which is Airbus’ current employee voted partner charity through its Charity Challenge fundraising and volunteering initiative.

Eight contenders took part in the competition and six additional cakes were donated for sales.  The overall bake-off winner was Sue Organ, who baked a giant cupcake decorated with Easter bunnies and spring flowers!

Lindsey Horton from Jessie May Trust, one of the three local hospices who will benefit from being the Charity Challenge partner charity, was a judge in the competition and said: “Airbus employees should be commended for the amount of effort they put into fundraising. Their level of commitment to supporting local charities is second to none and we are so proud to be their current partner charity.  Congratulations to everyone who took part in what has to be one of my favourite fundraising events of the year!”

During 2015, Airbus employees raised an amazing £175,000 for the partner and other local charities and this year the company’s employees are well on target to exceed this amount.
