New timetable begins – passengers call for punctual and reliable services

Transport Focus

Train operators should ensure every eligible passenger knows how to claim compensation so that they get the money they are entitled to, says Transport Focus.

Commenting on the the winter timetable changes, Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith, said:

“Passengers hope the timetable changes deliver more punctual and reliable services and that any teething problems will be ironed out as soon as possible.

“It is unfortunate that there were also signalling problems and a landslip which added to the inconvenience this weekend. Passengers don’t care what causes the disruption – they just want things running again as soon as possible, and plenty of visible staff on hand to help them in the meantime.

“Train operators should ensure every eligible passenger knows how to claim compensation so that they get the money they are entitled to. To make their voice heard passengers must claim every time and make delay pay.”
