CEO of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Helen Brand OBE respondsto new research which revealed a third of people who take onapprenticeshipsin Britain are failing to complete them.

This statistic is extremely worrying. Whilst we believe the Government deserves credit for its drive to bring parity to apprenticeships and degrees to do this, it is essential that apprenticeships are offering a viable alternative and helping young people build careers.

Today’s news proves that more needs to be done to ensure those embarking on apprenticeships get the support they need to complete them.

Employers are deeply concerned about the skills gap and apprenticeships are a large part of the solution. We must ensure the system works for both employer and apprentice.
