Young people in the UK have had a raw deal because of the government's austerity measures with reduced employment opportunities and 1 million young people unemployed. This announcement by Nestle gives hope to young people for employment.
GMB members employed in Nestle see this as a positive move by Nestle, who understands that if they want to have a skilled and efficient workforce for the future they must invest in young people and give them opportunities. Let's hope other companies take this positive initiative on board and look after the future of our young people which will benefit our society.
The GMB young members conference is taking place in London this weekend. It will look to how to encourage other companies to positively address the bum deal affluent Britain and Ireland has offered this generation of young workers."
