Karen Thomson at the CIPP wins HMRC stakeholder award

Karen Thomson, Associate Director of Policy, Research and Strategic Visibility at The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) has been awarded an HMRC Stakeholder Award.

Her award was presented by David Gauke MP in the Churchill Room at HMRC’s headquarters, in London on 3 December 2013.

The annual awards are given out to recognise stakeholders who help to make the UK”s tax system simpler and more transparent. Karen Thomson who is also a member of HMRC’s Administrative Burdens Advisory Board, was awarded this prestigious honor for the work she contributed to helping ensure that the impact of Real Time Information (RTI) on employers and their payroll processes was minimal.

Karen Thomson, commented: “As part of my role and the rest of the team at the CIPP we aim to represent the views of our members and reduce any potential burdens with existing and future policies. For this work to be recognised by HMRC is a huge honor, not just for me but the CIPP policy research team, and all in our profession, without whom this job would be impossible.’
