In a policy special of the PoliticsHome podcast supported by Leidos, we spoke to Home Office minister Kevin Foster about the UK’s big post-Brexit immigration shake-up.

The points-based system represents the biggest change to immigration policy in a generation.

The Home Office believes it will send “a very positive message” to the rest of the world about the kind of country Britain wants to be after it leaves the EU.

But how will it work in practice? Will the new salary requirements close the door on the UK’s social care workforce? Has the coronavirus pandemic changed the Government's thinking? And will the new set-up be ready in time? We sat down with immigration minister Kevin Foster to discuss the major overhaul.

This episode was supported by Leidos, and the team also spoke to Leidos UK’s chief technology officer Simon Daykin about the practical challenges of new technology at the border and the need for a collaborative approach.
