NOAH has welcomed the recognition of the importance of a One Health approach to the health of people, our planet, and animals at the highest political level.

This follows the declaration at the G7 Carbis Bay Summit that there is agreement to ‘champion an integrated and systems based One Health approach’.

NOAH also welcomes the continued focus on action against antimicrobial resistance and is ready to continue to play its part.

NOAH Chief Executive Dawn Howard said: “Antibiotics are vital to protect both people and animals. Collaboration is key to tackling global concerns around antimicrobial resistance. We, as part of our global association HealthforAnimals, are ready and will continue to collaborate – we are committed to our work on One Health – protecting people, our planet and animals.

“We also welcome the G7 commitment to R&D and access to antibiotics: indeed, all health products, and the recognition of the importance of resilient supply chains to achieve this. The important role of vaccines and diagnostics is also acknowledged, and we are pleased to see support in this area too,” she said.
