About Powering Britain's Future

The government's 2025 Modern Industrial Strategy marks a pivotal shift in climate and economic policy – positioning green ambitions not as standalone goals, but as integral to a broader industrial, technological, and geopolitical transformation.

This new phase moves beyond short-term fixes to focus on long-term structural change – prioritising investment, innovation, talent development, and global competitiveness. With ambitious 2035 targets, success will depend on effective delivery and collaboration across sectors.

Building on the success of Greening the Nation, this new framing highlights how the UK’s economic, industrial, and environmental futures are converging. From clean energy investment to AI innovation, workforce reskilling to infrastructure reform, Powering Britain’s Future explores how the UK is aligning environmental goals with national growth, resilience and competitiveness.

Energy Security and Green Infrastructure Week in Parliament

For the last three years, Energy Security and Green Infrastructure Week has run the UK’s biggest green energy industry conference which has been delivered entirely online.

For 2026, the UK’s national awareness week is hosting roundtables discussions in Portcullis House on Tuesday 13 January 2026 to engage with MPs, and aides, across the house. While consensus in parliament has been lost around net zero, all parties agree that energy security and lowering energy bills is a must for both businesses and citizens. Join the discussion and meet business leaders and academics tackling the biggest energy issues.
