RHA signs landmark partnership agreement with DWP

Today, 27 November, the Road Haulage Association together with the Department for Work and Pensions, will be signing a partnership agreement which will facilitate the exchange of information between the two bodies and improve the service to RHA members, DWP customers, groups and employers.

Benefits of the partnership include:
• Raising the profile of the haulage sector and the many opportunities available.
• Promoting careers within the industry.
• The ability for DWP to respond quickly to changes in the sector labour market including large scale recruitments and/or redundancies.
• Sharing good practice and customer insight to ensure efficient recruitment and/or redundancy planning.
• Develop entry routes and career progression in the supply chain and haulage sectors that are suitable for all Jobcentre Plus customers
• Improve awareness amongst DWP advisers and staff on the opportunities available and the value of the haulage sector

Commenting, RHA Acting Chief Executive, Nick Payne said: “This Partnership Agreement means that by the DWP and RHA will be better placed to meet the needs of road freight operators working specifically in the hire and reward haulage sector. It will also give those who wish to pursue a career in the industry a recognised route into this industry.”
