Rory wins and our customers win: Even more Santander major ISA customers set to cash in from Rory McIlroy's Open Championship triumph

Over 250,000 Santander Major ISA and 1|2|3 Exclusive Major ISA customers who opened the ISA between 11 March and 7 May 2013 will be better off following UK golfer Rory McIIroy’s win of the Open Championship yesterday (20 July).
Customers who took up Santander’s 1|2|3 Exclusive Major ISA, part of Santander’s cash ISA range for the 2013/14 tax year, already benefit from a market-leading 3.00 per cent AER tax free (fixed) return. While customers who opened the Major ISA before it went off sale on 7 April 2013 benefit from a competitive rate of 2.80 per cent AER tax free (fixed).
And because Rory McIIroy has won the Open Championship, one of the eligible golf ‘Majors’, they will now also earn an additional one-off bonus, paid at maturity, of 0.10 per cent tax free. This is the second time that Santander customers have benefitted from Rory’s win, with more than 600,000 customers who took up the Major ISA in 2012 already benefiting from his win in August 2012.
