The Horticultural Trades Association has been the trade body for the UK gardening industry since 1899 – representing, garden centres, plant nurseries, landscapers and garden manufacturers. It’s a sector worth £28 billion to GDP and supports 674,000 jobs annually. It produces the flowers and trees that are vital to meeting climate targets, enhance our natural and urban environments and support mental and physical health. Gardening is the UK’s most popular hobby with 30 million people regularly gardening. It is growing too, with 3 million more people taking up gardening following the covid lock-downs.
