Commenting on the government's announcement of a strategy to tackle homelessness, George McNamara, Director of Policy and Influencing at Independent Age, the older people’s charity, released the following statement.


Over 60s are twice as likely to register as homeless with local councils than they were seven years ago.

To truly make it "a thing of the past", government must focus on an alarming increase in homeless older people, catering for the health and social care needs of this growing group.
