The National Federation of Builders (NFB) congratulates the new appointments to Government.

The newly appointed prime minister has overhauled the Government and made new appointments to Cabinet. The National Federation of Builders(NFB) congratulates the new appointments and given the magnitude of the task ahead, looks forward to working with them to solve the barriers the construction industry faces.

Richard Beresford, chief executive of the NFB, said: “It’s always exciting to find out who is taking our industry forward and we wish Boris Johnson and his new team the best of luck in making late payment a thing of the past, procurement a more level playing field and the skills crisis an opportunity for learners and businesses. Some of the groundwork has been laid, we now need the Government to be brave enough to implement desperately needed change.”

Rico Wojtulewicz, head of housing and planning policy at the House Builders Association (HBA), said: “A renewed energy in solving the housing crisis is always welcomed and while we pay tribute to the outgoing ministers, we are ready to help our new partners understand what the industry has been fighting for and why planning, taxation and funding reforms are long overdue.”
