The government must take action to tackle the crisis in temporary accommodation
There is a worrying lack of urgency and detail in the government's plan for tackling the crisis in temporary accommodation.

To be the first nation to end HIV transmissions, we must end inequalities
The reduction in HIV transmission is a UK success story and the Government’s HIV Action Plan aim to end transmissions by 2030 is an ambition to be lauded.

Healthcare professionals lack sufficient training and awareness of sickle cell disease

We must fix the gaping hole in inheritance law to build a system that properly supports victims of domestic abuse
Recently, a Vauxhall resident contacted me with a case that was scarcely believable. The coroner ruled that his actions were a direct cause of her suicide.

Migrants are at risk of being left behind in the UK’s response to HIV

Women’s voices should not be an afterthought in policies about their own safety
The government’s announcement of plain clothed police in clubs to keep women safe completely misses the point. Women need to feel confident that they will be believed when they report harassment.

No leaseholder should pay for interim fire safety measures
Leaseholders did not cause the cladding scandal, and yet they are paying the price while those responsible are not pursued in any meaningful way.

Local people are the ones who will suffer the consequences of bad development decisions. Give councils and residents a voice at every stage

We must acknowledge the hidden role of gang associated girls
Young women and girls are ignored as victims of gang related violence. We need to invest in solutions based on the reality of female involvement or we risk dealing with only part of the problem.
