Cambridge Education to provide educational services to Slough Borough Council
Cambridge Education, part of the Mott MacDonald Group, has been appointed to provide educational services to Slough Borough Council, the borough’s schools and educational settings. The appointment will last initially for three years and has the potential to be extended for a further two years.
The consultancy will provide services which will include early years and children’s centres, admissions, special educational needs, governor support, educational psychology, school attendance, school transport, school catering, attendance and school improvement. This will be delivered locally and will include 154 staff members who have been transferred from Slough Borough Council to Cambridge Education as part of the agreement.
Cambridge Education has 13 years of experience providing similar services to the London Borough of Islington. Over that time educational achievement improved dramatically, with the proportion of school students achieving GCSE grades A* to C rising from 26.5% to 74%.
Stephen Cavanagh, managing director of Cambridge Education’s UK business said: “We’re delighted to be working with Slough Borough Council to deliver high quality services to schools, academies and early years settings. Every community is unique and we look forward to meeting the specific needs of young people in Slough, equipping them with the academic and life skills to succeed.”
