The Go-Ahead Group plc has scored 84 points out of 100 and is rated B in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)UKresults.

This is the highest score achieved by the Group so far and a seven point improvement upon last year’s disclosure score (77B). Go-Ahead’s performance has improved steadily over several years.

Environment manager Chris Grinstead, said: “Our continuous effort to improve environmental performance throughout all our bus and rail operating companies have contributed to this strong result.”

Go-Ahead places a great deal of emphasis on carbon, water and waste reduction and has earned a well-deserved reputation as a leading business in its sector for environmental responsibility and sustainability. Over the years, Go-Ahead has continually invested in maintaining a young, green fleet. The average age of Go-Ahead’s buses is one of the lowest in the sector at 7.5 years and the Group now operates over 200 alternative fuel vehicles.

CDP is an international not for profit organisation providing a global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. CDP works with some 768 institutional investors holding 92 trillion US dollars in assets. It aims to transform the way the world does business to prevent climate change.
