IfL welcomes Education and Training Foundation appointments
The Institute for Learning (IfL) has welcomed the appointment of David Russell as chief executive of the Education and Training Foundation and Paul Mullins as its chair.
IfL’s chief executive, Toni Fazaeli, said, “IfL’s aspiration is for every learner in further education and skills to benefit from high standards of teaching and training. The Education and Training Foundation has an important role in helping to achieve this, by supporting professional standards and workforce development, and helping to raise the status of vocational education and training.
“We are pleased to note that David Russell is a qualified teacher and has taught in secondary schools, so as well as many years’ experience in education policymaking, including in further education and adult skills, he brings personal experience of teaching and its importance. Paul Mullins, with his commercial background and expertise, will offer a valuable business and economic perspective to the work of the Foundation.
“As an active member of the steering group, IfL looks forward to working with David Russell in his new role and continuing to support the Foundation’s work.”
