IKEA UK today celebrates the opening of its new Planning Studio in Bromley. The store is the retailer’s second city centre format to open in London, following on from the opening of its first on Tottenham Court Road in October 2018.

  • Specialising in helping customers to plan and order kitchens and bedroom storage, the Planning Studio in Bromley is the next step in IKEA’s city centre approach in London
  • The store is IKEA’s second Planning Studio following the launch of its first on Tottenham Court Road in October 2018
  • The new store has a dedicated workshop space which is now available for the local community to use

Located at the former Mothercare and Early Learning Centre site on Bromley High Street, IKEA UK welcomes Bromley locals today, into its second Planning Studio in the country. The new store is part of IKEA’s ongoing city centre approach as it responds to the growth of urban living and changes to the way people live and shop, by bringing the IKEA brand closer to more people in London.

Jane Bisset, IKEA London City Centre Market Leader, said: “We’re thrilled to open our doors in Bromley today and our passionate co-workers look forward to helping the local community with their next big home projects. The opening of IKEA Bromley is another exciting step in our city centre approach and we’re currently exploring other locations in London for similar outlets, to help improve accessibility across the city.”

The Planning Studio offers a personalised service dedicated to planning kitchens and bedrooms in an inspirational setting. Customers now have the opportunity to book one-to-one, in-store appointments online with specialist co-workers, ensuring an easy and convenient way to get the advice and inspiration they need to browse, plan and order furniture for a bigger project in their home.

The store also features a bookable community room; a flexible space available to host events, workshops, meetings and training. The area is available to hire for up to 20 people. There are also plenty of spaces for customers to relax in, with soft seating across the store and a demo kitchen for food activities and events.
