It's 'access all areas' for human recognition systems
Human Recognition Systems (HRS), a leader in total biometric solutions, is set for growth after securing a £975,000 finance package from Santander Corporate Commercial to expand its successful business.
HRS provides innovative and trusted solutions built on over ten years’ experience in biometric technology, serving the aviation, construction, education and oil gas sectors where physical identity assurance is of paramount importance and the cost of failure is high. Fresh from providing access control throughout the development of the London 2012 Olympic Park and its subsequent redevelopment, HRS will use part of the finance to expand its construction business to create a fleet of MSite Pods.
The MSite Pod is an access control turnstile set inside a prefabricated unit, containing MSite biometric technology which identifies the worker and grants him or her access. MSite is the most widely used biometric access control and workforce management system in the construction industry and enables contractors to manage multiple sites centrally.
Neil Norman, Founder and Head of Innovation, HRS, said: “Every bank provides a bank account and cheque book, but it was clear from the outset that Santander stood out. They showed interest in what we did and bought into the excitement and potential of our business. So it feels less like a banking relationship and more like an understanding of how Santander can do what it does best in order to allow Human Recognition Systems to grow what we do best. I think they call that a partnership.”
John Tonkiss, Chief Executive Officer at HRS added: “We see Santander as a long-term partner for HRS and were attracted by their proactive support of UK SMEs. We are expecting a very strong end to the year across our four key markets and expect our relationship with Santander to develop as we deliver our plans.”
Richard Hennity, Relationship Director at Santander Corporate Commercial, said: “We are proud to be supporting HRS with this new funding. The biometric identification business is vitally important to the economy and it is great to see a local company making such headway in this global industry. In addition, HRS has been invited to join ACCELERATE 250 – a new business community championed by Sir Terry Leahy and Lord Young, made up of the fastest growing companies in the UK. I wish Neil and his team every success for the future.”
