New data from Community First funded projects published

Our new research shows the types of projects funded through the Community First Neighbourhood Matched Fund programme.

To date, the Community First Neighbourhood Matched Fund programme has meant:

- Over £45 million of match contributions
- £10.4 million of grant funding allocated to community projects
- 7,152 projects receiving funding and support

Community First projects meet priorities set by communities. the top five priorities that projects support are:

1. Better health and wellbeing of residents
2. A more connected, cohesive and proud community
3. Improving the lives of young people
4. More things to do and places to go
5. Crime and community safety

The top five activities funded by Community First are:

1. Culture and recreation
2. Social activities
3. Health, wellbeing and personal and social development
4. Community cohesion and engagement
5. Training and education

The top five beneficiary groups from Community First are:

1. The whole community
2. Children, parents and families
3. Young people
4. Older people
5. Low income groups

We also launched several short case studies of projects funded through Community First grants. The case studies are on the following themes and are available to download:

- Improving health and wellbeing in communities
- Building strong and integrated communities
- Recognising and celebrating young people
- Supporting communities to manage their money
- Building safer communities
