UK Chamber of Shipping response to Labour Manifesto launch

UK Chamber of Shipping

UK Chamber of Shipping Chief Executive Guy Platten reacts to the Labour manifesto launch

“From a business point of view, Labour’s manifesto is too vague to analyse.  They say growth and job creation are good things but don’t really focus on how they will deliver them.  They do get a little more specific when it comes to tax.

“Business will welcome a focus on boosting productivity through investment in skills and training, but again, without any detail it is impossible to gain a sense of what Labour would actually do.

“Labour have a strong history of supporting the UK’s huge shipping industry, and we would work closely with any Labour Government – but a little more detail would have been welcome.”
