We want T-Levels to be equally transformative, says CMI.
The UK will need 1.9m new managers by 2024, so we need to strengthen existing routes and develop new routes into management for young people.
Degree apprenticeships are already doing this, equipping young people with the knowledge and experience to succeed in the workplace and delivering the skills employers want.
Our research shows that they are also helping to raise the profile and status of technical education with many parents now rating a degree apprenticeship at a blue chip corporate over a traditional university degree.
We want T-Levels to be equally transformative, although we should not under-estimate the scale of the challenge we face. For example, CMI research shows that around two-thirds of parents have not heard of T-Levels. We will need to raise awareness substantially if we are to build the brand.
