Commenting on today's labour productivity data from the ONS, Geraint Johnes, director at The Work Foundation, said:

“The latest data on labour productivity shows growth of 0.3%, representing a 0.7% change over the course of the year. This is welcome following the dismal performance over the last few years. Nevertheless, this rate of growth remains below half of the long run trend. However, stronger overall productivity growth will require renewed investment in the skills of the British workforce, making up ground lost during the years since recession.”
