Don't Drop the Call: Why Supporting the UK's Mobile Industry is Essential

Mobile UK

The UK’s mobile industry is fundamental to social and economic growth across the nation. We recently launched an animation video that demonstrates why the UK’s mobile industry matters, the ongoing support to consumers during the Cost of Living Crisis, and the growing need for a positive investment environment.

‍Did you know:

  • Mobile communications support a supply chain that accounts for 75,000 jobs across the UK.
  • The industry is rolling out 5G, and further extending 4G coverage to 95% of the UK’s landmass via the Shared Rural Network.
  • During the Cost-of-Living crisis, the industry contributed £290 million to support customers.

With a General Election expected within a year Mobile UK is looking to any future government to support the industry to ensure a positive investment environment. This, alongside measures to reduce delays in the planning system, and a well-balanced policy and regulatory regime, will help attract much needed capital and investment into the industry, ensuring the UK can meet its digital ambitions.
