Get 1-to-1 careers guidance, job search and financial advice with BVA at LVS
Vets looking for inspiration to invigorate their careers this year can count again on the British Veterinary Association (BVA) Careers Fair to deliver stimulating talks as well as free one-to-one careers and financial planning sessions.
Following its popularity at the London Vet Show (LVS) last year, and incorporating delegate feedback, the BVA Careers Fair, in association with Vet Record Careers, returns to London Olympia on 21 and 22 November with three main themes: starting your career, career options, and taking the next step in your career.
All elements of the BVA Careers Fair are open exclusively to BVA members with the hugely popular one-to-one sessions expected to be snapped up quickly again this year. The one-to-one careers sessions are being provided by the BVA Careers Service and have been kindly sponsored by RIG Vets and the financial one-to-ones are being provided by BVA’s affiliate partners Lloyd and Whyte. Booking will open in mid-September.
Highlights from the careers lectures include:
• How to get the job everyone wants
• What should and shouldn’t be in my contract?
• Top 10 tips to avoid being sued!
• How to squeeze 30 hours into one day
• Entering a joint venture partnership, and
• Sessions on specific career options such as research, charity work, emergency and critical care, and industry
Other session topics include getting support from your practice, finance, insurance and pensions, how to talk to clients, work/life balance, specialisation, working overseas, and career changes.
