GGF launches new Technical Hub

Glass and Glazing Federation

3 min read Partner content

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Technical Hub, housing all the technical services and products the Federation delivers, for its Members and the industry.

As well as an obvious and much needed re-design, the aim of the new Hub is to provide a more informative service primarily for GGF Members but also to highlight to non-Members and the wider industry such as architects, specifiers and building designers, the many technical services the GGF offers.

The GGF Technical Hub provides the full range of technical support and covers core operations such as; consultancy, technical consultations and publications such as GGF Datasheets, Guides and many other technical documents.

David Borland, GGF Senior Technical Officer who has been the driving force behind this new online development, commented, “Rather than simply update the generic technical information page, we wanted to create an online home where visitors to the GGF website can find all aspects of the GGF’s technical resource. The new Technical Hub will provide a much more immersive experience.”

The concertina style drop down design has multiple sub-sections for the user’s convenience and ease of navigation, with each topic providing links to relevant documents and/or easy online booking forms.

A visit to the Technical Hub also offers the latest technical news and access to an events and meetings calendar – which includes details of the GGF’s specialist technical groups’ meetings, technical webinars and online forums.

The Technical Hub also houses relevant information and links to Government and trade information such as consultations that may impact on Members’ business.

In addition to the web links that enable access the GGF’s technical library of over 100 publications, the Technical Hub also has a complete list of industry standards under review from BSI (UK standards), CEN (European standards) & ISO (international standards). Visitors to the Technical Hub can see the current status of each standard and relevant dates for response to the relevant standards body (BSI, CEN or ISO).

For GGF Members the latest GGF Technical Report is also available to download and/or view, providing Members with an accurate and up to date on the very latest technical developments in the industry.

David Borland continued, “The new Technical Hub is an unrivalled resource for our industry, providing interactive and essential technical information. I am sure that users of this new online feature, will find the experience of the technical hub, an easy and simple way to find the highest quality of technical guidance in the industry.”

John Agnew, GGF Managing Director added, “The GGF team are doing their utmost to constantly improve the many services the Federation offers. We are working on all fronts to upgrade and develop our operations. In March, we launched the GGF Digital Marketing Toolkit and we have now followed this up with the launch of the GGF Technical Hub. In the next few months, we are aiming to launch many more digital products, services and publications to primarily support our Members, by making the road to recovery much easier.”

The new GGF Technical Hub can be accessed via this link:  https://www.ggf.org.uk/technical-hub/ or by simply searching “GGF Technical Hub” on Google or other online search engines.
