Miliband apprenticeship guarantee announcement today - Training provider response

AELP | Association of Employment and Learning Providers

1 min read Partner content

Commenting on Ed Milibands apprenticeship announcement today, Stewart Segal, CEO of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers which represents the training providers who deliver the great majority of apprenticeships in England, said:

“We are encouraged by Labour’s increasing support in respect of growing the number and improving the quality of apprenticeships together with the commitment to fund these additional opportunities for young people.  However we believe these must be real jobs created by employers and any guarantee must not compromise this.

“Apprenticeships provide a route into work for young people at all levels in the economy and we should not reserve them just for those who achieve good GCSEs.”
