Mott MacDonald appointed on Shanghai Foxconn Plaza, China

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Foxconn (Shanghai) Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the CNY850 million (88.5 million) Shanghai Foxconn Plaza in China.

Located in the financial centre of Shanghai by the Huang Pu River, the 50,000 sq m plaza will be the headquarters of Hong Hai Technology Group. It will comprise 21 stories and four annex levels, as well as a 32,000 sq m basement made up of four floors. There will also be parking spaces for 500 vehicles.

Sam Hung, Mott MacDonald’s project director, said: “The Shanghai Foxconn Plaza is targeting both LEED platinum medal and national two-star green building certificates. The design includes sustainable features such as a double curtain wall façade, rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, solar panels and geothermal heat exchange.”

Construction of the Shanghai Foxconn Plaza is due to be completed by the end of 2017.
