The Investment Association today publishes its monthly statistics for authorised investment funds for February 2016 which show:

  • Net retail outflow from UK authorised investment funds of £399 million in February

  • Targeted Absolute Return was the top-selling IA sector in February with net retail sales of £243 million

  • Funds under management up from £843 billion in January to £855 billion in February

  • Tracker funds saw a net retail inflow of £91 million

Guy Sears, Interim Chief Executive of the Investment Association, said:

"Caution was still evident amongst retail investors in February as they reduced their holdings in investment funds amid volatile markets.

"Outflows were seen across a range of asset classes, but we did see investor appetite for absolute return and equity income products."
