One of the key areas of activity within the delivery plan for the Education and Training Foundation is to review the current professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector, which were developed by LLUK and introduced in 2007. These standards were not updated when initial teacher training qualifications were reviewed by LSIS in 2012/13.

The Practitioner Group will have a significant role to play in influencing and shaping the new professional standards for teachers and trainers in the future and will meet four times between November 2013 and March 31 2014. The Foundation are looking for people in the following roles to join the group:

• Principals or Chief Executives and senior managers from colleges, training providers, community learning or industry based training with a particular interest in professionalism within education and training

• Heads of Department, HR managers, Training managers or Quality managers with responsibility for performance management, recruitment and/or continuing professional development

• Managers with responsibility for initial teacher training.

The Foundation will reimburse all travel and subsistence costs.
