The benefit of missing the Brexit October 31st deadline, is we are now able to question party leaders and candidates on what they will do about removing 'late payment'.

The National Federation of Builders’ Chief Executive Richard Beresford, said: “We expect seasonal dips in output in winter because of the weather. Brexit pessimism is set to continue into 2020 after missing the 31 October deadline. The one potential positive at the moment is being able to question party leaders and candidates on what they will do about removing a barrier that our members tell us is an ongoing problem - late payment.

“Late payment does not just affect cash flow, it affects the ability to invest in your business and in training – and ultimately its consequences can damage the mental health of directors and employees in the companies affected. As another parliamentary period looms, the Government should commit to New Year’s resolutions of paying suppliers on time and ensuring that government agencies, such as the Crown Commercial Service, follow stated guidelines on excluding contractors who do not meet prompt payment criteria.”
