Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council – Penistone West: Labour hold.

By-election held following the death of Labour Cllr Peter Starling.

Griffin, David Labour 772 (31.45%) **elected**
Milner, Andrew Conservative 719 (29.33%)
Webber, Steve Independent 338 (13.79%)
Wood, David UKIP 622 (25.77%)

Votes: 2, 451*
Turnout: 25.7%
Majority: 53

Cornwall Council – Illogan: Liberal Democrat gain from Conservative

By-election held following the resignation of Conservative Cllr Terry Wilkins.

Ekinsmyth, David Raymond – Liberal Democrat – 277 (23.77%) – **elected**
Richardson, Stephen Anthony – Mebyon Kernow the Party for Cornwall – 217 (18.62%)
Desmonde, Adam Nicholas Philip – Conservative – 215 (18.45%)
Polkinghorne, Clive Edward – UKIP – 156 (13.39%)
Chalker, William Trevor – Labour – 129 (11.1%)
Holmes, Paul Thomas – Liberal Party in Cornwall – 121 (10.38%)
