WWF-UK’s Chief Executive David Nussbaum who is attending the UN Climate Summit said:

“Hundreds of thousands of people around the world marched on Sunday demanding that their leaders act urgently on climate change. So WWF is pleased that David Cameron came to the UN Climate Summit where there is overwhelming support for effective action to tackle climate change.

“WWF welcomes the recognition that the Prime Minister gave to the importance of reaching a global deal in Paris next year. This Summit is just the beginning and world leaders will be judged by the climate agreement they sign in Paris in 2015.

“WWF-UK want to see the UK government lead the world in investment in clean, renewable energy and the phasing-out of fossil fuels. Next month, the government must help secure an EU climate and energy package, which contains ambitious targets to cut greenhouse gases, increase energy efficiency, and promote renewable energy across Europe.”
