Our Work: Farmed Animal Welfare
Industrialised animal agriculture is causing immense suffering to millions of animals, as well as having a devastating impact on our climate and environment. We are lobbying for the elimination of the farming methods that cause most suffering, including a ban on farrowing crates for pigs, and we advocate for Mandatory Method of Production labelling, to enable consumers to make informed choices about animal products they may choose to buy. We work with public sector caterers to provide training and insights for chefs and managers that will help result in more plant-based meals being offered and chosen by diners. We believe the UK government must protect hard won welfare standards in trade deals, and not allow them to be undermined by lower welfare imports.
