SRA announces appointment of new Chair

Welcoming the appointment, SRA Chair Enid Rowlands said: “I am delighted that Anna Bradley has been appointed as the new Chair of the SRA Board, after a rigorous and competitive process. She will bring both a wealth of experience and a clear commitment to regulating in the public interest to the role at what will be a key time for the legal sector.

"I look forward to working with Anna to ensure a smooth and successful transition as the SRA moves ahead with the implementation of its programme of regulatory reform.”

The appointment is for an initial period of three years.

The SRA has worked hard under Enid’s leadership to deliver a programme of reform and modernisation that will make this important sector fit for the future. I look forward to building on that good work.”

Anna Bradley is currently Chair of the Zurich Financial Independent Governance Committee, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the End-User Council of the new Payments Systems Regulator (NPSO) and a Trustee at Age UK. She has also previously chaired Healthwatch England and the Council of Licensed Conveyancers, amongst others.

Enid Rowlands has led the SRA Board since January 2015, and her term of office will end on 31 December 2018.

The recruitment process has been undertaken by an expert recruitment agency and led by an independent appointments panel.
