Tory MP accuses Labour members of trying to harass his children

2 min read

A newly elected Tory MP has accused Labour members of attempting to harass his family.

In a series of tweets Bim Afolami said political activists in his Hitchin and Harpenden constituency had been trying to find out which school his children attended.

Mr Afolami added that he had informed Parliamentary authorities and had contacted police, although he had not registered a formal complaint.

The MP told the BBC he had taken the action in order to put people “on notice” that the behaviour was unacceptable.

The Labour Party said any reports of harassment would be investigated.

Mr Afolami was elected to the Hitchin and Harpenden seat in June's snap general election.
