Chartered Institute of Building

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) begins its annual search for the UK’s finest construction talent. Entries are now open for the Construction Manager of the Year award, with an exciting range of CIOB Awards categories to follow.

No other awards in the construction industry are regarded as highly as the CIOB Awards, including the long-established Construction Manager of the Year award. This is the annual celebration that recognises and applauds the accomplishments of exceptional professionals that lead by example and shape our built environment.

In 2021, this prestigious event returned to the London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, hosted by renowned architect and TV presenter George Clarke FCIOB. This year, CIOB is planning to be back on 28 September 2022 to celebrate the achievements of all the finalists.

Often referred to as “the Oscars of Construction”, these awards are considered as one of the most challenging and career-defining to win. The range of categories in which you can nominate your colleagues or yourself include the Construction Manager of the Year, Team of the Year and Rising Star. You can even nominate your favourite client – is there someone you’ve worked with over the past year who’s been a joy to work alongside?

Past winners and industry leaders form an expert panel of judges who assess applications, conduct interviews and scrutinise every aspect of the entries.  It is free to enter and a great opportunity to showcase the very best of our industry.

Caroline Gumble, Chief Executive of CIOB, said:

“It was wonderful to be back last year to celebrate the CIOB Awards and the Construction Manager of the Year Award in person. There is so much talent in our sector and, even in the last two years, when there was uncertainty and unpredictability, the construction community showed how remarkably resilient it is and delivered an incredible line-up of finalists. This year, the CIOB Awards will be another important opportunity to shout out the finest construction professionals in this important industry and I am already excited about what 2022’s awards will bring.”

The Construction Manager of the Year award is open for nominations until 26 March 2022. Further CIOB Awards entry dates will be announced shortly.
