The Government, Heathrow and the airlines have got to come up with workable plans to insure that noise and air pollution issues are properly addressed says GMB London.

GMB, the union for workers in the aviation industry, calls for the public consultation launched today, 2 February 2017, to be the final round in the go ahead for a 3rd runway to be built at Heathrow.

Warren Kenny GMB London regional secretary said:

"This consultation has got to be the final round in this long running saga.

"The Government, Heathrow and the airlines have got to come up with workable plans to ensure that noise and air pollution issues are properly addressed. At the same time government need to keep under review expansion at other airports in the South East including Gatwick."
