Government's pension remedy proposals for McCloud a profound disappointment

This is no way to treat teachers and other key workers who have served our country throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Responding to the remedy to the McCloud Judgment published by the Government, Dr Patrick Roach, General Secretary of the NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union, said:

Teachers will be dismayed by the Government's proposals to remedy the McCloud judgment, which found that the Government's 2015 reforms to the Teachers' Pension Scheme were discriminatory on grounds of age.

It beggar’s belief that the Government is proposing that teachers should meet the cost of proposals that the Government is implementing as a result of a legal case which it lost.

This is no way to treat teachers and other key workers who have served our country throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
