LEAD 2024 to deliver vision of growth through responsible advertising

Former PM Gordon Brown joins stellar line-up of political and advertising leaders on 8 February

9 January, London:  The Advertising Association, the IPA, and ISBA have revealed the full agenda for their annual industry summit, LEAD 2024, taking place on 8 February at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.

With sessions themed around ‘leading the way to responsible growth’, LEAD 2024 promises to be a critical event in the advertising calendar. Hosted by journalist and broadcaster, Samira Ahmed, the summit will bring together leaders from across the political, business and advertising spheres.

LEAD will feature an exclusive keynote from former Prime Minister Gordon Brown as well speeches from the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lucy Frazer KC MP, and Sir Chris Bryant MP, Shadow Minister, Creative Industries and Digital, as the UK approaches a crucial year for politics.

Other key sessions will delve into advertising’s role in shaping the future of the economy, the latest developments in public trust in advertising, exploring AI's potential, the power of purposeful creativity and much more.

The line-up includes influential figures such as Rain Newton-Smith, Chief Executive, CBI; Lord Michael Grade, Chair, Ofcom; Derya Matras, Vice President, UK, Northern Europe, Middle East & Africa, Meta; Dame Annette King, Global Lead, Accenture Song & Chair, Advertising Association; Debbie Weinstein, Vice President and MD of UK & Ireland, Google; Laurence Green, Director of Effectiveness, IPA; Eve Williams, Vice President & General Manager, eBay UK; Enyi Nwosu, Chief Strategy Officer, UM London; Cigdem Kurtulus, Global Brand Director, Reckitt; and David Clements, UK Marketing Lead, Mondelez International, among others.

Stephen Woodford, CEO, Advertising Association said: “2024 will be a pivotal year for UK politics and the economy – what better way to commence it than by gaining insights from a former Prime Minister as well as those leading the charge in shaping policies for a stronger UK business and advertising environment. This is the most extensive LEAD agenda yet, addressing the key themes that will shape the work of advertisers, agencies and media owners this year.”

LEAD will be held as a full day event for the first time, providing networking opportunities with 400 senior-level professionals from the combined memberships of the AA, IPA and ISBA.
