Response to Government's plans to improve care and reduce hospital stays for elderly and vulnerable
Carers Trust’s response to today's announcement by the Departments for Health and for Local Communities and Government to improve care for the elderly and vulnerable and reduce hospital stays.
Dr Moira Fraser, interim chief executive of Carers Trust, said:
“The recognition of carers in plans submitted by Health and Wellbeing boards is a major and welcome step in the right direction. We will be looking at these plans in more detail to see what local areas will be specifically doing to ensure carers needs are addressed and the ways in which they will be working with the voluntary and community sector.
“It is crucial that in the run up to April 2015 that the Better Care Fund will deliver for carers and the people they care for.”
