To help vets starting out in practice or returning from a career break the British Veterinary Association (BVA) has again teamed up with the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), this time offering BVA members a 25% discount on a selection of RVC Webinar Plus CPD courses.

BVA members on a career break, or in their first to third year after graduation can access selected RVC Webinar Plus courses for £125 per course. The courses are designed to refresh, broaden and deepen delegate’s clinical skills.

Each RVC Webinar Plus course includes four 2 hour webinars, relevant reading material, slides and self-assessment exercises. Participants can earn 12 CPD hours per course.

Courses available at the discount are:

Dermatology essentials online
Endocrine essentials online
Essentials of GI disorders online
Diagnosis and management of hepatobiliary disorders online
Orthopaedic essentials online – management of fractures
Farm animal therapeutics online

According to BVA President John Blackwell this kind of CPD offers fantastic value and more:

“Following feedback from members on the BVA/RVC Clinical Refresher courses we have run in previous years, the shift to delivering refresher training through webinars means easier access to high quality training to fit in with vets’ busy lives. Our CPD Group felt that the RVC Webinar Plus courses offer great flexibility, quality and value to our recently graduated members.“

Jill Maddison, RVC Director for Continued Professional Development and Extramural Studies, added:

“RVC is proud to support BVA in providing discounted CPD opportunities for members who are on a career break or very recently graduated. The Recorded Webinar Plus courses provide a flexible and rich online learning experience covering several key topics relevant to clinical practice.

“The mixture of learning resources provided include webinars, readings, self-assessment exercises and frequently asked questions. The courses can be completed from the comfort of the participant’s own computer and at times to suit their personal schedule. They are therefore ideally suited for those with family commitments and/or those who are unable to travel to attend CPD.”

To book at the discounted rate BVA members should visit www.bva.co.uk/rvc and log in in order to access the booking form, for further information please email helend@bva.co.uk.
