Question time for EBLEX as new video show launched

Eblex | AHDB Beef and Lamb

4 min read Partner content

English beef and lamb farmers are being encouraged to ask EBLEX as part of a new digital offering from the industrys levy board.

EBLEX has launched a monthly news round-up show via its online video channel, EBLEX TV, called Beef and Lamb Bitesize, which reports the latest industry news and market information in a short, easily-digestible form.

Keen to make use of smartphone and tablet technology which many people own, the show also provides a platform for the farming community to put queries to EBLEX with the ‘Ask EBLEX’ feature. Farmers simply send in a video of them asking their question, and the appropriate team will offer a filmed response. Questions could be about practical on-farm issues, the Better Returns Programme, findings from EBLEX research and development projects or industry best-practice. Other ‘Bitesize features include ‘Markets in a Minute’ and ‘EBLEX Insights’.

Ben Coates, EBLEX Media Officer, said:

“Beef and Lamb Bitesize promises to be a useful industry resource, where viewers can get up-to-date news and information in just a few minutes. Not only can people watch it on their smartphones, tablet or laptops, but they can also use those devices to record and submit a short video question for inclusion in a future edition.”

The launch of ‘Bitesize’ follows hot on the heels of news that the EBLEX Mobile app is being developed to include a selection of video content from EBLEX TV. This will mean that users can browse and download videos while connected to the internet, and then watch them later even if no internet is available. The app update is expected to go live in late February.

Ask EBLEX question videos can be emailed to communications@eblex.ahdb.org.uk, as can a link to the video if it is hosted anywhere else online (YouTube, Vimeo etc). Please ensure that background noise in your videos is at a minimum so that the dialogue is clearly audible. If further assistance is required, please call Ben Coates on 024 7647 8736. Only one Ask EBLEX question can be featured per episode so inclusion cannot be guaranteed.
