Local Government People draws together details of last week's local by-election results and changes to councils' political compositions

Local authority by-elections held 01/04/2015 and 02/04/2015:

Tandridge – Whyteleafe: Liberal Democrat Gain from Conservative.

Ferguson, Martin - UK Independence Party – 119 (15.14%)
Lee, David – Liberal Democrat – 393 (50%) **elected**
Sweeney, Peter – Conservative – 274 (34.86%)

Votes: 786
Turnout: 26.4%
Majority: 119

By-election held following the disqualification of Conservative Councillor Tom Dempsey.

Gwynedd - Cadnant: Labour Gain from Plaid Cymru.

Sarnacki, Maria Veronica - Independent – 94 (13.78%)
Tomos, Glyn - Plaid Cymru – 185 (27.13%)
Hibbert, David - Conservatives– 22 (3.23%)
Parry, Jason Wayne - Llais Gwynedd – 148 (21.7%)
Thomas, Glyn - Labour Party – 233 (34.16%) **elected**

Votes: 682
Turnout: 45%
Majority: 48

By-election held following the death of Plaid Cymru Councillor Huw Edwards.

Tandridge: Conservative 34, Liberal Democrat 6, Independent 2 – Conservative controlled.
Gwynedd: Plaid Cymru 35, Independent Group 18, Llais Gwynedd 13, Labour 4, Independent 3, Liberal Democrat 2 – No Overall Control
