Local authority by-elections held Thursday 5th June 2014:

South Lanarkshire Council – Clydesdale South: Scottish Labour gain

By-election held following the resignation of SNP councillor Archie Manson.

Muir, Gordon – Scottish Labour – 1, 492 (41%) – **ELECTED**
Sneddon, George – SNP – 1, 170 (32%)
Hood, Donna – Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 659 (18%)
MacKay, Donald Murdo – UKIP – 233 (6%)
Thomas, Ruth – Scottish Green Party – 104 (3%)

Votes: 3, 658*
Turnout: 30.97%
Majority: 322

Local authority by-elections held Thursday 12th June 2014

North Kesteven District Council – Sleaford Quarrington and Mareham: Lincolnshire Independents gain

By-election held following the resignation of Sleaford Independents councillor Ian Dolby.

Suffield, Mark – Lincolnshire Independents – 527 (45%) – **ELECTED**
Titmus, Garry – Conservative – 477 (40%)
Gresham, Nigel – Independent – 178 (15%)

Votes: 1, 182*
Turnout: 22.2%
Majority: 50

North Kesteven District Council – Sleaford Westholme: Lincolnshire Independents gain

By-election held following the resignation of Sleaford Independents councillor Brian Watson.

Fields, Steve – Lincolnshire Independents – 342 (69%) – **ELECTED**
Rayner, Andrew – Conservative – 119 (23%)
Greetham, Robert – Labour – 38 (8%)

Votes: 499*
Turnout: 25.07%
Majority: 223

Rother District Council – Bexhill Collington: Independent gain

By-election held following the resignation of Association of Independent councillor John Lee.

Oliver, Douglas Barry – Independent – 570 (42%) – **ELECTED**
Wheeler, Gillian Patricia – Conservative – 378 (28%)
Moore, Philip – UKIP – 311 (23%)
Bearne, Michael Alan – Labour – 102 (7%)

Votes: 1, 361*
Turnout: 36.51%
Majority: 192
